HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Authorities have apprehended an escaped inmate near a western Maryland country club.

Erin Julius, a spokeswoman for the Maryland Division of Correction, said 51-year-old Dominic Webster was captured Friday afternoon, hours after he was discovered missing from the Maryland Correctional Institution-Hagerstown.

Julius says he was taken into custody without incident at about 4:10 p.m. on the south edge of the Beaver Creek Country Club.

The Maryland Division of Correction says Webster was serving 25 years for multiple counts of robbery with a deadly weapon and handgun use.

Officials noticed he was missing shortly before 11 a.m. Friday. The medium-security prison for men has the capacity for about 2,100 inmates.
