BOWIE, Md. - Police say a shooting at a house party on a wealthy street in Bowie has left one man dead and two injured.
Prince George's County police were searching for a suspect in the shooting that killed 21-year-old Aaron Leach of Upper Marlboro outside a home on Lottsford Terrace late Saturday.
Police spokesman Cpl. Clinton Copeland says two other men, aged 21 and 23, also were shot and were being treated at a hospital.
Leach's mother says she was told that her son had tried to stop a fight between two people at the party. She says one man left but came back with a gun. Neighbors say they heard about a half-dozen shots.
Residents say the party was for the 20th birthday of a neighbor's son. Another party was being held nearby, and there was traffic between the two.
