CUMBERLAND, Md. - A woman serving life in prison for murder says she won't contest a divorce from her husband.  She is however disputing his reason for the divorce, that she killed someone.  Erika Sifrit writings are in a court filing obtained by WTOP-FM.

She wrote, “I do not contest this divorce. However I do contest Benjamin Sifrit’s statement that I killed two people.  This is a lie because I did not kill two people.

I have never killed anyone.”  Benjamin Sifrit, who has also been convicted of murder, filed for divorce in March, in part because he alleges that Erika Sifrit is a convicted felon.

Erika Sifrit was sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years after being convicted in 2003 of murdering Joshua Ford and Martha "Genie" Crutchley, of Fairfax, Va.  Benjamin Sifrit was sentenced to 38 years for second degree murder.
