LANDOVER HILLS, Md. - Thieves committed a wild crime spree in Prince George's County. Seven robberies and carjackings happened in just 20 minutes. Investigators think the cases may be connected.

They all happened in the Hyattsville and Landover Hills areas of Prince George's County, most of them early Wednesday morning. Another incident later in the morning may also be connected and the search for the suspects continues.

One man was just out waxing his car when he was approached by a gunman. He told us, "My first thought was to jump at him, but sometimes it don't come out good. Sometimes you think that your strength will overpower somebody else, but the trigger is easy to pull."

Police are trying to figure out if that case is related to the seven other robberies and carjackings that happened between 7:30 and 8 Wednesday morning.

Prince George's County authorities say that the crimes were carried out by three to four males armed with handguns at the following locations:
-7:29 a.m. - 7100 block of Varnum St. (Robbery)
-7:30 a.m. - 4400 block of 72nd Ave. (Robbery)
-7:34 a.m. - 6500 block of Osbourne Rd. (Robbery)
-7:41 a.m. - 5200 block of Wiley St. (Robbery)
-7:42 a.m. - 6600 block of Furman Pkwy. (Carjacking)
-7:47 a.m. - 4800 block of 66th Ave. (Robbery)
-7:49 a.m. - 6600 block of Annapolis Rd. (Carjacking)

At least five of the victims were on foot.

Two were in cars. Investigators say the suspects spent part of the morning in a Chrysler van stolen from D.C. That van has been recovered, but police are still looking for a car taken in Prince George's County. It's a brown 1999 Lexus ES3000 with Maryland tag MFY692.
