Local Family Awaits Health Care Reform

Capitol Hill is bracing itself for a crucial vote in the U.S. Senate on health care reform. Democratic leaders' first test will be to get enough votes to bring the bill to the Senate for it to be debated.

As the war of words continues, Senate vote counters are still trying to figure if the bill has the 60 votes it needs to pass this first test.

One local family found itself on the front lines of the debate. Fed up with the back and forth she got from politicians, Cynthia Cathcart of Silver Spring decided to write a letter to Capitol Hill and express her frustration over the family's struggles to get affordable health care. On the eve of the Senate vote, Cathcart and her husband were waiting to see if the Democrats' health care reforms would get off the ground.
