Charles County responded to Saint Charles, Md. where an SUV slammed into a townhouse Tuesday morning.

The accident happened shortly before seven in the 36-hundred block of Kimpsford Field Place.

Police say a 17 year old driver lost control of the Ford Explorer, swerved to avoid another car, then jumped the curb and rammed the home.

A woman and two children were upstairs at the time of the crash.

The accident took out the staircase and left the residents trapped.

Fire officials have now helped them out. The occupants of the house were uninjured.
