MANASSAS, Va. - A domestic dispute ends with a 12 hour police standoff.  A man had barricaded himself in a 2nd floor room.  He refused to open the door for police.

Approximately 24 hours after the incident started, at 4:20 p.m. Thursday the Virginia State Police Emergency Services Unit made entry into the motel room finding John Charles Carlson Sr. 50, dead from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.

Police say Carlson got into a verbal fight with a woman in the parking lot of a Home Style Inn in Manassas, Virginia.  The incident began after the argument.
