ALEXANDRIA, Va - On Sunday, August 1, around 11:20 a.m., police divers located the body of the kayaker who went missing yesterday in the Potomac River.
The body of Kenneth E. Huggins, 46, of 4110 Suitland Road, in Suitland, Maryland was located near Dyke Marsh about a mile south of the Belle Haven Marina.
Huggins went missing Saturday around 11:46 a.m. while kayaking with a 19 year-old man on the river. Multiple jurisdictions responded and coordinated a search for over eight hours. The search was suspended at 8:30 p.m. Saturday night due to diminished daylight and was resumed Sunday at 7 a.m.
The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
