FAIRMOUNT HEIGHTS, Md. - The call came into 911 for a car fire, but when the flames were out, police and firefighters discovered a body. The car was parked at the intersection of Jefferson Heights Drive and Balsam Tree Drive in Seat Pleasant, Maryland. It was engulfed in flames.

Around 4:40 a.m. a citizen called 911 to report the fire. By the time firefighters and police arrived, there was almost nothing left of the car.

"The car was burned up pretty good. Everything, any type of labels, markings was all burned up," said Cpl. Mike Rodriguez with Prince George's County Police.

Firefighters got the fire out quickly. Once they began inspecting the car, they discovered a body in the interior. Police aren't saying exactly what part of the car. Homicide investigators, swarmed the area, but at this point police can't say if foul play was involved.

"Right now the way the body appeared, it looked, it was burnt beyond recognition. So the body will be transported to the medical examiner's office to be ID’d," said Rodriguez.

Police have identified the body as 34-year-old Antwain Elisha Henderson.

Police plan to canvas the neighborhood today to see what if anything people saw or if anyone is missing. They can't tell if the person died from the fire, or something else first.

One neighbor who calls himself "Williams" said he's not surprised, even though these things don't usually happen around here. "Why anywhere" he said, "I don't know."

Right now police are treating this as a death investigation, unless an autopsy or the investigation turns up something suspicious.
