Authorities say a person was hit and killed by a Metro train on Friday night at the Brookland-CUA Metro Station in Northeast D.C.
Witnesses told police a man intentionally placed himself in the path of an incoming train, and he was hit. Police have not confirmed that information.
A Metro Transit Police spokesperson said the Brookland station has reopened since the accident, but late Friday trains were still single-tracking between the Rhode Island and Fort Totten stations, which was causing delays on Red Line in both directions.
Riders should check Metro's website for updates on train times in the area.
