GLENARDEN, Md. - Two Prince George's County paramedics are under scrutiny after their department says they left a man for dead.
It happened in a community for senior citizens and the disabled in Glenarden on Friday afternoon.
No one had seen George Waters, an elderly man in the building for several days. Neighbors say they called 911 after building managers found him unresponsive on the floor.
The responding paramedics decided he was dead. An hour and a half later police evidence technicians called EMS crews back. That is when a different unit responded.
It turns out Waters was still alive. It was only then he was taken to the hospital.
According to the Washington Post, Waters did die Saturday night in the hospital.
County Fire/EMS departments have launched a review. The two paramedics are on limited public contact status.
