Can you celebrate the holidays without God in your life? One organization thinks you can.

The American Humanist Association is spending $40,000 on a controversial advertising campaign. The ads will be placed on Metro buses and rail cars.

The large banners will say, "No God? No Problem!"

The month of December is typically a time for religious celebrations. The American Humanist Association says that is why it is getting its message out now.

"We aren't seeking to offend anyone with our ads. We want to raise the profile. It's a sensitive time for religious folks and for secular folks," said Roy Speckhardt, Executive Director for the American Humanist Association.

This is the second advertising campaign funded by the American Humanist Association. Last year, the association received a number of complaints about the banners. Those banners read, "Why believe in a God?"

"I don't think you should advertise stuff like that on the bus.. You are misleading people to believe there is no God," said Theodus Wyland. Wyland said the banners upset him.

Washington, D.C. is where most of the advertising fund is being spent this holiday season. Smaller advertising buys have been taken out in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
