WASHINGTON - He was a peacemaker, poet, and philosopher who inspired millions of people throughout the world.

Mattie Stepanek accomplished more in his nearly fourteen years than most of us will in a lifetime.

He was a bestselling author, and the national goodwill ambassador for the muscular dystrophy association. During his life, he was able to become friends with his personal heroes.

Now, for the first time, his life story is revealed through the eyes of his closest hero and best friend…his mother.

FOX 5’s Tony Perkins recently spent some time with Jeni Stepanek learning about her new book, "Messenger: The Legacy Of Mattie J.T. Stepanek And Heartsongs".
