Maryland State Police have issued the state's first Silver Alert for a missing vulnerable adult.

Troopers say 84-year-old Arthur Mulkey of Howard County was last seen Sunday west of Frederick on eastbound I-70 at the Route 40 exit.

Mulkey is described as being five feet, seven inches tall, weighting about 160 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.

He was driving a red, 2000 Chevrolet S-10 truck with Maryland registration 46L477.

Anyone who has information about Mulkey should call the Howard County Police northern district or dial 911.

The Silver Alert is new notification system for missing seniors with cognitive disorders. Legislation enabling the system took effect Oct. 1.
