WASHINGTON - The Maryland Transit Administration is warning MARC Brunswick line riders of more disruptions.
Service was halted on the Brunswick line , which runs from Washington to western Maryland and West Virginia, while a downed power line was removed from tracks used by MARC and Metro on Thursday afternoon. More than 40 passengers were stuck for hours on a Metro train before they were rescued by another train.
Since MARC crews worked much later than usual Thursday night, MTA says only one Brunswick line crew will be able to work as scheduled Friday morning. Federal Railroad Administration regulations require crews to have a certain amount of rest before returning to work.
MTA says at least four trains were canceled early Friday morning, but full service is expected in the afternoon. Metro is honoring MARC tickets.
