Montgomery County police have charged a man with first-degree murder in the killing of a man whose body was found in the road in Wheaton.
Moises Rodriguez, 19, of Wheaton was arrested Wednesday. He is being held without bond.
Jose Chacon says his 34-year-old brother, Samuel Chacon, was a good father and a hard worker.
"I'm just surprised this happened. I still don't know exactly what happened," Jose says.
Samuel did construction and drove a dump truck. He called Samuel a jack of all trades.
"He was a mechanic too," said Jose. "He did everything."
Jose says Samuel was at home with his family on Tuesday night when he got a phone call.
"He was here in the house around 10 o'clock. My mom said someone called and answered the phone. He said, 'I'm going to go out for a little while,'" Jose recalls.
They say he got in his car and drove away.
Then, investigators say, just after midnight a motorist saw a body in the road on Newton Street in Wheaton. Samuel Chacon was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
On Wednesday, investigators arrested Moises Rodriquez, charging him with murder.
An autopsy revealed Chacon died from multiple stab wounds. Police say the suspect and the victim did know each other, but the motive this crime is still unknown.
Rodriquez is currently being held without bond at the Montgomery County Police Detention Center.
