Parents in one Sterling community took their kids trick or treating even though the neighborhood is on edge.

Loudoun County investigators say early Friday morning two men posing as cops broke into a home on East Lee Road and carried out a robbery.

The homeowner tells FOX 5 the men kicked in his back door and announced they were cops.

They were dressed all in black and wearing ski masks.

He says the robbers held a gun to his head and demanded money.

They eventually left with a small safe after he couldn't open it.

The homeowner and his wife were tied up but not injured.

Their 5 year old son slept through it all.

Police are asking for the public's help in the case.

Investigators don't have much to go on.

There is a one thousand dollar reward in the case.
