WASHINGTON - Two of the firefighters who were injured in a house fire allegedly set by an arsonist sat down only with FOX 5’s Stacey Cohan. They talk about the arrest of a suspect and their long road to recovery.
Mike Deavers and Chuck Ryan say they were born into the firefighting tradition as sons of firemen. To understand their reaction to the arrest of Maurice Dews you need to understand what it is to be a firefighter.
Deavers and Ryan are both hoping to return to work, although Ryan's recovery will take longer. They credit their fellow firefighters and the fire department's all volunteer burn foundation for standing by their side every day and speeding their recovery.
