On Friday, 9-year-old Oscar Fuentes' family said farewell to the little boy who was shot dead through his front door. Family, friends, and even strangers gathered to say goodbye.

The fourth grader was shot in his own apartment building last Saturday night when a 26-year-old man allegedly fired a bullet through his family's front door. Oscar was hit once in the back.

Police say Josue Pena was looking for money and when he didn't get what he wanted, he pulled the trigger.

In a Northwest D.C. church on Friday, Oscar's body lay in a white coffin. The church was brimming with people who wanted to say goodbye.

In the moments before the closing of the casket, Oscar's mother Maritza stroked his hair. Her sobs moved others to tears.

As the funeral procession prepared to move, an ambulance was called for one of Oscar's aunts. A family member says she fainted. Paramedics treated her at the scene.

In a gesture to the family, D.C. Police on Harleys lead the procession up 16th Street and into Maryland, where Oscar will be laid to rest.
