BELTSVILLE, Md. - A family forced from their Beltsville, Maryland home last fall credited their Doberman named Monster for helping to alert them to the fast moving flames. Everyone got out alive and Monster was hailed a hero.
Weeks later, Prince George's County Animal Control officials discovered the family gave the dog to another family due to financial constraints. Officers say they received complaints the dog was being neglected in its new environment and investigated.
Monster was eventually impounded and that is when a local rescue organization called Best Dawg Rescue moved in to give the dog a last hope at finding a new family.
Volunteers renamed him Foster and are hoping the renewed attention will help his chances of finding a new home.
