Accused Teacher Kevin Ricks Charged With Child Porn Offense

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Federal prosecutors have charged a Manassas teacher, already arrested for alleged sex offenses against a former student, with child pornography offenses.

Fifty-year-old Kevin Ricks of Federalsburg, Md. was charged Wednesday in a criminal complaint with transporting and possessing child pornography.

Ricks was charged in February with carnal knowledge, aggravated sexual battery and two counts of indecent liberties while in a supervisory position. The alleged victim is a 16-year-old former student.

According to an affidavit, after his arrest, Ricks' laptop computer was searched and several images of child pornography were allegedly found. The affidavit says Ricks took the computer from his home in Virginia to his home in Maryland on weekends.
