WASHINGTON, D.C. - Lights, cameras, action! It was a star-studded "purple carpet" party in D.C. on Thursday night.
The occasion: The Hotel Washington reborn as the W Hotel. The grand opening attracted local VIP's like President Obama's aide, Reggie Love. It also brought out Hollywood stars like Actress-Singer-Songwriter Emmy Rossum and Six-time Grammy Award winning singer John Legend.
The 90-year-old historic landmark shut down 18 months ago for a multi-million dollar facelift. The Starwood Hotel group says it kept the redesign in line with the city's standards for an historic hotel.
They are hoping it becomes the city's newest hotspot for power players.
