Suspicious Package on Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Capitol Police say a suspicious package that was found in the Longworth House Office Building on Capitol Hill Wednesday afternoon has been taken away, and will be rendered safe in Quantico, Virginia.

Earlier in the day, people working inside the building were evacuated while police safely transported the device. Those people were moved to the Canon Building temporarily, but the Longworth Building has now been deemed safe.

Capitol Police Sergeant Kimberly Schneider says Virginia State police will help in taking the device to Quantico to be rendered safe.
