New Mural Unveiled in Wheaton

WHEATON, Md. - You may notice some new scenery the next time you drive through Wheaton, Maryland.

A new mural was unveiled on Thursday, and it was painted by students, staff and parents from Evergreen School. The mural is located in the Wheaton Triangle, and it features the message, 'Rescue a Single Life and You Rescue the World.'

School officials say the design was a collaborative effort.

"The children each initially sat down individually and sketched out ideas based on the quote, based on our discussion," explained Tim Holtzclaw of the Evergreen School. "And we slowly and diplomatically narrowed down those ideas, and then compiled them into what you see behind me."

The concept for the design came about after some of the students visited the Wheaton Rescue Squad.
