The bizarre power play over the D.C. City Council's Washington Nationals baseball tickets continues in a political showdown between Mayor Adrian Fenty and council members, and it appears it's far from over. FOX 5 has asked questions, but so far the mayor has stayed mum on the issue.
But council members say that's not the only thing Fenty is staying quiet about. In recent weeks, council members have become increasingly concerned that the mayor is hindering investigations.
Journalists complain they are getting the run around. For two days, the mayor said he would get answers about those Nats tickets, and on Wednesday, FOX 5 tried again—to no avail.
Mayor Fenty is keeping a firm hold on the city council's 19 tickets. He has 67 of his own under an agreement with the Nationals. After asking continuously, the mayor refuses to give the details on why his office has possession of the tickets.
For two days, the mayor said he would get answers about those the National's Ballpark luxury suite tickets. It still hasn't happened.

"If you have specific things we need to answer, well get you the details," Fenty said on Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday evening he said, "I'll have someone get back to you."
That didn't happen, so 24 hours later FOX 5 went back to the mayor at a community meeting.
"You specifically said someone would get in touch with us," FOX 5 reporter Roby Chavez told the mayor.
"They didn't get in touch with you? I'm sorry about that, Roby," Mayor Fenty responded.
And after two days, the mayor hasn't loosened his grip on the tickets or an answer. On Wednesday night FOX 5 asked, "So are you going to give the tickets back?"
"I'm not interested in talking about baseball ticket story with you," Fenty responded.
At the Wilson Building, council members have watched the public relations nightmare for the mayor build.
"There are other issues that arise," said Council Chairman Vincent Gray. "That could simply be explained and they can just move on to the next issue, but it gets blown up larger than seemingly should."
Issues like the fire truck donated to the Dominican Republic, and Mayor Fenty's travels. Recently journalists and city leaders complained about the mayor's answers lack of detail.
The lack of specifics is what concerns council members who now have to subpoena witness to get answers about vital city business.
"We've had witnesses who've been requested to come before the council," Chairman Gray told FOX 5. "They have not been permitted to come, so now we are resorting to subpoenas and other tactics that will get people there."
"If there is something that we've done wrong in responding to a particular council member, I will look into it and we'll make a correction," Fenty said in regards to that issue.
In addition to several freedom of information requests over various issues, FOX 5 has now submitted a list of specific questions on the tickets. FOX 5 is hopefully answers will come on Thursday.
