According to investigators, Washington was walking toward H Street from a women's shelter that is close by. FOX 5 is not revealing the name or location of that shelter in order to protect the women living there.

Washington was a mother of four. A law enforcement source tells FOX 5 she was a potential witness in an upcoming drug case that's scheduled for D.C. Superior Court, but there's no indication as to whether her death is related to that case or not.
