ST. LOUIS, MO - A pair of engineers have proposed a solution to stop the oil spill in the Gulf.
The device costs $10 million, but the problem they're facing is that nobody is listening.
It took Jim Brewer three days to come up with the model.
It took only seconds to confirm that it works; be it with the water in a driveway; or, he says, the oil coming out of the ocean floor in the Gulf of Mexico.

BP reports more than 25,000 barrels of oil being siphoned to tankers in a single day now; still less than half of what may be coming up.
Brewer says that's just not acceptable and that his device would get it all.
"I lived in Louisiana,” Brewer said. “I know the service industry, the fishing industry, the restaurants, and the people down there. This has got to be stopped. Somebody take care of this. Get it done. There's no excuse for this thing to be running. There's none. None."
Brewer's helped build everything from oil refineries to hazardous waste incinerators.
His idea is stack pipe sections, like those used at cement plants in 50 to 100 foot sections, over the well with 4 separate feeds branching off to tanker ships to help keep pressure under control.
He says the color of his model is certainly no coincidence.
Brewer and partner, Clayton Lebeau, just out of engineering school, say their design even acts as a "cap" on the current well once a relief well is drilled.
"This is proof of concept right here,” said Lebeau. “With the concept proved, there's no reason they shouldn't be out there working right now or at least trying this in some way, shape, or form."
