DC Man Pleads Guilty To Craiglist Sex Offenses

WASHINGTON - A D.C. man has pleaded guilty to two sexual offenses involving women he met on Craigslist.

Twenty-six-year-old Brandon Petty faces 15 years in prison for assault with intent to commit sexual abuse and up to 30 years in prison for attempted first-degree sexual abuse while armed.

Petty contacted both women in ads they were running for adult services on Craigslist. In each instance, he arranged to meet them at D.C. hotels, placed a knife to the victim's neck and demanded money and oral sex.

In the attempted sexual abuse incident, the suspect fled the room after the woman's friend began banging on the hotel door.

Petty will be required to register for life as a sex offender under D.C. law.

He is scheduled for sentencing on Sept. 28.
