WASHINGTON - The D.C. Government filed a lawsuit Tuesday, claiming a city non-profit took more than 300-thousand dollars meant for a job-training facility and instead built a nightclub in Northeast.
The suit claims the director of "Miracle Hands", improperly billed the city for work that was never done.
The lawsuit claims the money given to Cornell Jones and Miracle Hands was supposed to be used to build a job-training facility for people with HIV-Aids. Jones told the city he was going to renovate an old warehouse on Queens Chapel Road. But the training facility never opened.
Instead, the city claims Jones opened the Stadium Club gentlemen's club instead. Now the city says it wants its money back and more.
The lawsuit claims the job training center which never materialized was supposed to open in 2007.
Fox 5 was unable to reach Jones today for comment.
