A grand jury has returned an indictment against Ingmar Quandique, who is accused of killing Chandra Levy.
The 27-year-old Guandique was indicted Tuesday on charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping, attempted first-degree sexual abuse and other offenses.
He will be arraigned on May 27.
Channing Phillips, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office, says "the indictment speaks for itself."
The 24-year-old Levy had just completed an internship with the U.S. Bureau of Prisons when she disappeared in 2001 after leaving her apartment in jogging clothes.
Guandique's lawyers have said the case against him is flawed.
