The 60 to 39 vote may not seem close. But Senate Democrats just barely pulled together the 60 votes needed to prevent a filibuster and bring their health care bill to the floor for debate.

But they likely face more hurdles. Even the holdout Democratic Senators say they are unlikely to vote for the $848 billion dollar bill in its current form.

During a rare Saturday session...Republicans argued the bill costs too much and needs more work. They are also vowing to introduce multiple amendments to the legislation.

The victory means debate on the Senate floor can begin after the Thanksgiving holiday. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is hoping to have a vote before the end of the year.
