ST. LOUIS, Missouri - President Barack Obama took to the field at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the 2009 All Star Game -- but some fans watching at home still don't know just how good his pitching skills really are.

That's because while FOX aired the pregame festivities including the President's first pitch, the camera stayed on him -- and not on the ball.   Unless, according to some viewers, you were watching in HD.  Announcer Joe Buck said the ball made it to St. Louis Cardinals' catcher Albert Pujols' glove, but some fans will have to take his word for it.

The only shot that many fans at home saw during the first pitch was of the president himself. A replay showed Obama's reaction after throwing the ball, but the broadcast failed to show the pitch when it crossed -- or possibly didn't cross -- the plate.

While some on Twitter who apparently watched in HD got a shot of the ball before it hit Pujols' glove, those who didn't were left wondering -- was it a strike?  A number of people sent tweets about not seeing the shot of Pujols catching the ball in the moments after the pitch was thrown.

Meanwhile at the stadium, there was a roar from the crowd as President Obama ran from the dugout, wearing jeans and a Chicago White Sox jacket. A few boos were heard as he made his way to the pitcher's mound -- presumably because of the jacket he wore in support of his hometown team.

In the second inning, Obama joined the FOX broadcast team of Joe Buck and Tim McCarver in the booth, and during the interview, the pitch was replayed from the centerfield camera angle.

Earlier in the day, Obama greeted players from both leagues in their respective clubhouses.
