Police arrested two people on Thursday during an anti-war protest in Washington after some participants turned violent, and officials in Virginia are getting ready for more of the same with another protest planned for the weekend.
D.C. Police claim several people in the crowd were throwing bricks and paint. A police vehicle and a number of businesses were damaged when paint balloons exploded.
On Friday, Arlington County Police held a meeting about the issues in D.C. as they prepare for thousands to protest near the Pentagon on Saturday. The March on the Pentagon protest is expected to draw people from across the country.
Answer Coalition is one of the major sponsors of the event. On Friday, the organization said it doesn't expect to have any similar problems that were seen in D.C. on Thursday.
Arlington County Police had officers who were observing the protest in D.C. on Thursday. They took pictures of the damage, and plan to do all they can to prevent damage to property or injury to anyone who wants to peacefully participate in Saturday's protest at the Pentagon.
