Dan and Mary Jane McCann did not have permission to hand out flyers at West Potomac High School. They came anyway Thursday at dismissal time with a stack of leaflets.

The McCanns are still seeking answers about the death of their 16-year-old daughter, who was a junior there, and who disappeared from home on Halloween. Days later, her body was found in Baltimore.

Private detectives hired by the McCanns have found witnesses who say Annie McCann was seen in the company of a young white woman around the time of her disappearance. Some of the flyers contain a sketch of the mystery female, who is described as being between 18 and 23 years old, wearing heavy makeup and sporting an unusual nail polish described as yellow or brown.

Maryland's Medical Examiner has concluded that Annie McCann died after orally ingesting the disinfectant Bactine. The parents doubt the death was a suicide, and, after talking student volunteers at West Potomac into handing out flyers, they are hoping that someone will come forward with information about their daughter's disappearance.

Baltimore Police are still actively investigating the case, and will listen to any tips on their toll-free hotline (1-866-7 LOCKUP), or their website, www.metrocrimestoppers.net . Information may be left anonymously.
