Cytexone is one of several companies that set up "Smart Homes.”

That make it so that all you need is a remote, touch screen, mobile phone, or computer and you can control your entire home.

You can set your thermostat on the go, check your security camera from work, or even set up a web browser in your bathroom mirror.

You can even shut off the coffee pot remotely.

Architect and developer Mick Walsdorf is adding smart home technology to his twelve-unit building because he feels it is a good investment.

“My design is going to be an all off button,” Walsdorf says.

But what are the most popular features? Cytexone CEO Daniel Levine says,” We do a lot of romantic buttons, soft music playing in certain rooms and even the fireplace turning on.”

Stephen Melman with the National Association of Homebuilders says the idea of Smart Homes will stay.

In time all these features will make their way into the home, once they're tested, they're usable, they'll become affordable and absolutely they'll be included,” Melman says.

The average Cytexone system goes for anywhere between 15,000 and 150,000 dollars.
