The public is invited to join Goethe-Institut staff throughout Momday in constructing, decorating and dismantling our own "Berlin Wall."
Construction begins prior to 9 am on a 16' by 8' segment of "Wall" in front of our building on I (Eye) Street. Throughout the day, passersby may decorate the Wall with their own thoughts about freedom and the Fall of the Wall, etc. During the day the Goethe-Institut is going to show various films that present the Fall of the Wall from different points of view (e.g. Field Trip to Berlin or November Days: Live TV Coverage). In addition, visitors are invited to visit our new exhibiton Iconoclash! Political Imagery from the Berlin Wall to German Unification, in our gallery, featuring political and cultural artifacts from East Germany.
