Holly Morris: Girl Scout Camp

WASHINGTON - The Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital was formed over forty-five years ago.

FOX 5's Holly Morris visited some of the scouts as they enjoyed the fun at sleep away camp this week.

Our Girl Scouts are from the entire Washington metropolitan area, including Washington, DC; the Maryland counties of Calvert, Charles, Frederick, Montgomery, Prince George's and Saint Mary's; the Virginia counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun and Prince William; and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church.

As of September 30, 2008, GSCNC has a combined girl and adult membership of 82,395 for the 2007-2008 scout year!

We are thrilled to reach this milestone with membership that consists of 57,762 and 24,632 adult members.  We serve girls through wide ranging activities in 4,415 troops with the help of dedicated volunteers- women and men who give their time, talent and energy to Girl Scouting
