WASHINGTON - Dr. David Moss an orthopedic hand surgeon with Washington Orthopedics. joined FOX 5 to spread awareness about carpal tunnel, its symptoms, causes and ways to relieve this common condition.
Dr. Moss shared what are some likely causes of carpal tunnel, diabetes is one of them. The others include thyroid problems, fractures and arthritis. Dr. Moss warns against making repetitive hand motions which can worsen the pain.
Symptoms of carpal tunnel can also alert pain suffers that it may be time to visit their physicians. Dr. Moss often looks for numbness, tingling and burning as some signs of carpal tunnel. Other carpal tunnel symptoms include weakened grip, pain which may extend from the fingers to the shoulders. Any of these pains that are frequently occurring at night may indicate carpal tunnel.
