ALEXANDRIA, Va. - An Alexandria group is campaigning to reduce the rate of teenage pregnancy in an innovative way.

To get through to teens, the Alexandria Campaign on Adolescent Pregnancy has set up a teen text message line for them to call with any questions they might have on the birds and the bees.

Becky Griesse, the coordinator, says they can text anonymously and get answers to questions they might be embarrassed to ask in health education class in school or to approach an adult about one-on-one. She says mostly teens are texting questions about relationships, how to get into one, whether their relationship is healthy.

But she also sees questions like, "If I have sex in a pool or bath tub, can I get pregnant?" and "How do you know, when you're ready to have sex?" or "I think I'm pregnant, how should I tell my mom?"

Some teens FOX 5 spoke to said they doubt they would use such a service, but anyone interested can text (703) 717-TEEN (8336). Normal text message rates apply.
