Description The primary duties of the Economist will be to conduct primary and secondary research to support the formulation of analytical solutions, the development of economic models and the interpretation of results. Collects and reviews existing research and assesses the applicability of results to the problem at hand. Collects, compiles and assesses data relating to research issues, utilizing knowledge of available data sources and various econometric and sampling techniques. Duties require a sound knowledge of economic and econometric methods. Responsbilites will include writing and presentation of findings that require an ability to communicate complex analytical concepts. Will put data into report format and arrange for preparation of graphic illustrations of research findings. Formulates recommendations, policies, or plans to aid in market interpretation or solution of client issues with clear, specified objectives and limited variables. The Economist may work independently on projects or assists senior economists.

Requirements Masters degree in Economics or related field.
2 + years equivalent experience with an emphasis on the application and interpretation of research is preferred.
Experience in conceptualizing and developing economic or business models using analytical methods is required.
Knowledge of economic/econometric methods is needed.
Experience with analytical packages and/or programming languages (SAS, Eviews, SPSS, Visual Basic, etc.) and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Power Point, and Access is required.
Position requires an individual with the ability to interact with clients on a regular basis.
