D.C. police are trying to find the man responsible for a home invasion Wednesday afternoon. A 69-year-old woman answered the front door of her Massachusetts Avenue home just steps away from the National Cathedral and ended up being dragged through the house and eventually tied up with a vacuum cord.

The University of Maryland University College, Yellow Ribbon Fund and the Blewitt Foundation honored the first recipients of a new national scholarship for caregivers of wounded warriors. Three caregivers, including Danielle Kelly, were awarded full scholarships to UMUC from the Pillars of Strength Scholarship Fund.
