RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe says an agreement has been reached on budget cuts for the next two years. McAuliffe and leaders of the General Assembly plan to release details at a news conference today McAuliffe has said officials are projecting a revenue shortfall of nearly $2.4 billion over a three-year period.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) - Two state historical markers are being christened this weekend in Lynchburg. The Virginia Department of Historic Resources markers each will be dedicated yesterday. One will recognize a home for formerly enslaved women, while the other will recognize the site of Confederate soldiers' camp that later emerged as a refuge for freed slaves after the Civil War.

DOSWELL, Va. (AP) - The birthplace of Triple Crown great Secretariat will welcome a wild horse training competition next spring. The Meadow Event Park in Doswell will host an Extreme Mustang Makeover. It will be held in conjunction with the new Virginia Horse Festival from March 27 to 29.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - Nearly 100 ring-necked doves rescued from a shed in Virginia are ready for adoption. Barbara Gipson of the Virginia Beach Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says the doves make good pets.
