FLINTSTONE, Md. (AP) - The newly christened Rocky Gap Casino Resort opened its doors to the public today after winning approval from state gambling regulators. Maryland's fourth casino will add 250 jobs to the resort in western Maryland formerly known as the Rocky Gap Lodge and Golf Resort.

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington's fire chief says he now carries a gun to protect himself after taking on more code enforcement duties. Fire Chief Anthony Goode tells The News Journal he has been carrying a firearm for about a month. He says firefighters are always in dangerous situations and don't know what they're walking into.

VANDALIA, Ill. (AP) - Five Baltimore men who died in a highway accident in Illinois were members of a Christian ministry returning from a conference in California. Philip LaCrue of Calif.-based Victory Outreach International says the victims of Monday's wreck on Interstate 70 east of St. Louis took part in the Mighty Men of Valor 2013 event in Ontario, Calif.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) - Ravens rookie linebacker Arthur Brown is recovering from sports hernia surgery and will be sidelined for at least a month. Brown had the operation two weeks ago following the team's first rookie minicamp. He was the Ravens' second-round draft pick.
